Missy had a digital recorder in her car. She went to get it, and we had an impromptu EVP session.
I took notes. The date was April 17, 2011.
The session occurred upstairs in an audition and meeting room. We sat on the floor, in a circle, and placed the digital recorder in front of us. Drew turned it on and greeted Carl. He then asked that any spirit wishing to communicate knock once for yes and twice for no. Immediately, we heard a knock behind Missy.
When we replayed the EVP session, we all heard a clanking noise, metal clicks making a âdink, dinkâ noise. The pattern wasnât consistent. This is a noise we had not heard by ear in real time. The noise reminded Drew of people working on the railroad.
At one point, I asked Missy a question, after which one clear knock, indicating yes, was heard in real time, followed by a distinct, clear, loud, human-sounding whistle. The whistle was like the sound an obnoxious guy might make in hopes of gaining attention from a girl he finds attractive. The recorded whistle falls under the category of a Class A EVP, which means it is very clear and easy to make out with no vibrations present that make words fade away. Class A EVPs are understandable by all who listen.
While recording, Reese Christianâs assessment of Carl being the equivalent of a ghost gone mad was brought up again, following which a growling sound occurred. I would classify the growl as a Class B EVP, meaning it can be heard but fades in and out.
During the EVP session, we turned the recorder off a couple of times due to trains passing behind the building. Just before turning off the recorder, Drew said, âThereâs our train.â After his statement, when reviewing the recording, we heard a distinct Class A voice respond. It said, âNo, itâs not.â
Two more, less distinct than the first, whistles were recorded.
At one point, Missy said, âIf you are Carl, knock loud for us.â Following her request, at playback, we heard a loud knock. The knock was not heard in real time.
The four of us remained seated during the entire EVP session. Still, we heard movement in the prop room. Drew asked if the presence was in the prop room. Missyâs recorder captured one knock, meaning yes.
Drew asked the presence if it was happy. Two knocks occurred and were caught on the recorder, two signifying no.
Drew studied parapsychology under famed spirit chaser and author of more than ninety-five books Troy Taylor.
